This is a first-line supervisor position within the department. The Lieutenant shall assist in budget preparation and policy formulating when requested to do so.  Supervise subordinates and assign duties as required. Additional work includes: crime prevention duties, supervising crossing guards, scheduling and participating in all special events that require a police presence for security or community support, public information officer duties, and other duties as assigned. The Assistant Chief of Police directly supervises this position. Kevin McSorley is currently the Community Support Lieutenant.
