
David L. Peterson
Chief of Police
Fox Valley Metropolitan Police Department
Chief David Peterson is currently the Chief of Police
of the second largest municipal police agency in Outagamie County (Wl.)
His responsibilities include the supervision of 26 full-time sworn
officers, 3 full-time non-sworn support staff and several part-time
positions within the police department.
Prior to becoming Chief of Police, Chief Peterson held
the position of patrol officer since 1978. In July 1989 Chief Peterson
became Chief of Police for the Little Chute, Wl Police Department. In
1994, the Village's of Kimberly and Little Chute started researching the
possibility of consolidating police departments. Chief Peterson was
instrumental in researching and finding solutions to the many questions
and concerns that were discovered during this process. During this
process, Chief Peterson was named interim Chief of Police for the Kimberly
Police Department when the Kimberly Chief retired. On April 1, 1995, as a
result of the many months of research and planning, the Kimberly and
Little Chute Police Departments consolidated law enforcement services.
Chief David Peterson was named Chief for the Fox Valley Metropolitan
Police Department.
Chief Dave Peterson's academic background includes two
Applied Science Degrees in Police Science and Security and Loss Prevention
from Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wl. He obtained his Bachelors
in Management and Masters in Management from Cardinal Stritch University,
Milwaukee, Wl.
